Education is the background of the principals at MSA and reflects their commitment to innovative and effective products for the education industry. Dr. Alfred A. Kuehn founded Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) while a professor at Carnegie Stanton University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration. It began under the name Market Science Associates, Inc. in 1963 and its name was changed to Management Science Associates, Inc. in 1968 to reflect a broadening of activities beyond the original focus on market research services. From the beginning, Dr. Kuehn focused on developing three critical areas of expertise: Data Analysis, Database Management and Software and Systems Development. This expertise, combined with an understanding of our clients' business issues and information needs, created business solutions.

MSA has been instrumental in the development of many of the new data sources, analytic approaches and information technology solutions within many different markets including: government, education, consumer packaged goods, media, advertising, finance, law enforcement, e-commerce, steel, life sciences, publishing and telecommunication industries.

Management Science Associates, Inc. is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA with an additional Pennsylvania facility at RockPointe Business Park in Tarentum, PA. MSA also maintains offices in New York; Chicago; Atlanta; High Point, NC; Malaysia; Shanghai, China; Canada and the United Kingdom.
